REBS' KASOWSKI AVOIDS SERIOUS INJURY
Roanoke Valley Rebels center Peter Kasowski, who was hit by a puck Tuesday night in a game against the Raleigh (N.C.) IceHawks, escaped serious injury and was able to practice Wednesday, Rebels coach Roy Sommer said.Kasowski was struck in the neck by a deflected puck early in the first period of the Rebels' 2-0 win. The Rebels, who broke a nine-game losing streak with the win, resume play on Friday at Hampton Roads. They entertain Winston-Salem at the LancerLot on Saturday. - Staff report
