Secretary of Finance Paul Timmreck told money committees that revenue col-
lections for the first half of the fiscal year were up 3.1 percent, more than
a full percentage point above projections, but that collections are expected
to slow. The House Conservation and Natural Resources Committee
unanimously endorsed a bill that allows the Sunday shooting of game birds on
licensed preserves. The chairman of the House Privileges & Elections
Committee appointed a sub- committee to determine how to investigate a
contested Fairfax County House elec-tion. Republican David Sanders is
challenging a recount showing Democrat James Scott won by 1 vote.
