PRINCIPAL CHARGED WITH KISSING PUPIL, 9

The acting principal of a middle school has been charged with a felony in which he is suspected of kissing a 9-year-old student and then offering to pay her.

Steven Stocker, who was arrested Jan. 5 on a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, now faces a felony charge of endangering the health or morals of the student, police said.

Stocker, 31, was named outstanding young educator by the Fredericksburg Jaycees in 1988.

Commonwealth's Attorney Charles Sharp said the incident allegedly occurred Dec. 20 at Stocker's apartment. Authorities claim that while playing a servant-master game, Stocker allegedly kissed the girl's feet and sucked her toes. Sharp also said Stocker later took her to a mall and spent an unspecified amount of money on her, then asked her to tell no one about the incident.
