FORMER BYRD TEACHER CINDY HENSON DIES
Cindy Henson, who taught English and was named Teacher of the Year three times at William Byrd High School, died Wednesday after a long fight against multiple sclerosis. She was 38.Henson sponsored "Sketches," the school literary magazine, and was well known for her traditional Christmas Eve open houses for former students.
Henson, a Roanoke native, was diagnosed with MS in 1984. The incurable disease affects the nervous system.
