HEAVENER, SYDNEY B.

BLACKSBURG - Sydney Bishop Heavener, age 88, died Wednesday, January 15, 1992, at his home. Mr. Heavener was born in Montgomery County, on December 20, 1903, to the late Floyd H. Heavener and Louisa Long Heavener. He was a retired carpenter. Surviving are two sons, Nelson Heavener, Martinsville; and James Heavener, Blacksburg; one sister, Mabel Price, Blacksburg; one brother, Allen Heavener, Blacksburg; special friends, Louise Allen and Ella Hughes, both of Blacksburg; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, at McCoy Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Schroeder will officiate. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
