ROCK, ROBERT J.COVINGTON - Robert Jones Rock, age 55, died Thursday. Mr. Rock was born October 7, 1936, in Botetourt County, the son of the late James Hubert and Carrie Lee Jones Rock. He was the co-owner of Woodys Auto Parts in Covington. He was a member of the Kazim Temple in Roanoke, was past District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Virginia. He was the Roanoke SCORE Chapter Representative for the Alleghany Highlands. He was past chairman of the Alleghany Highlands Republican Party. Surviving are his wife, Shelby Carper Rock of Covington; one daughter, Mrs. M. Cary (Carrie Rock) Collins of Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, James Barry Rock of Falls Church; one half brother, Mark Rock of New Castle. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Temple Baptist Church at Covington with the Rev. William Hartsfield officiating assisted by Lt. Todd Long. Interment will be in Alleghany Memorial Park at Covington. The family will receive their friends Friday night from 7:00 until 8:30 at Arritt Funeral Home.
