Floyd County outscored Giles 33-13 in the second quarter and coasted to an 84-46 Mountain Empire District boys' basketball victory Thursday.
Mike Hylton and John Holley scored 13 points apiece to lead the Buffaloes (8-1 overall, 7-1 district). Fred Via chipped in 12 and Jamie Boswell had 10 for the Buffaloes.
Jeff Jeffrey and Rusty Newby scored 10 points each to lead Giles. \

MOUTH OF WILSON - Chris Davis scored 22 points to lead the Warriors (22-2) to victory over a team from Australia.
The Warriors outscored the visitors 33-8 in the second and third quarters to seize control.
Chad Rivett had 12 points for Victorian Junior Elite, which is 7-7 in games on its U.S. tour. \
