Cave Spring made its free throws early and went on to a 50-41 Roanoke Valley District girls' basketball victory over William Fleming on Thursday night.

Kim Stewart had a game-high 21 points to lead the Knights (9-0, 4-0). Keisha Harrington and Tonya Kabia each had 13 for the Colonels (8-4, 1-4).

Elizabeth Brant scored 17 points as visiting Stuart Hall (2-6, 2-6) held off a rally by the Raiders, who could get no closer than the final deficit in the fourth quarter of the Blue Ridge Conference game. Kelly Baetz had 16 for North Cross (3-7, 0-5). \
