ALDERMAN, JAMES A., Sr.James Alvin Alderman, Sr., age 66, of Route 3, Hillsville, passed away in Twin County Community Hospital Friday. He was born in Carroll County, March 17, 1925, to James Ernest Alderman and Ruby Dalton Alderman. He was retired from Radford Arsenal. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Smith Alderman; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and George Moore of Gastonia, N. C.; Pat and John Worrell of Blacksburg; Linda and Roger Stilwell of Dublin; son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Tammy Alderman, Jr. of Hillsville; a son, Dennis Michael Alderman of Hillsville; two sisters, Eula Mae White of Hillsville; Betty Lyon of Hillsville; two brothers, Marcus G. Alderman of Richmond; and Randolph Alderman of Galax; three grandchildren, Chrissy Carrico of Hillsville; Heidi Stilwell of Dublin; A. J. Worrell of Blacksburg. Funeral services will be Sunday 2:00 p.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. Donald Frazier officiating. Interment to follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. Masonic Rites by the Hillsville Masonic Lodge. The family indicates flowers will be appreciated or a donation may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends Saturday evening 7:00 to 9:00 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.
