BASHAM, ALTA S.

Mrs. Alta Jane Smith Basham of Salem, died Friday in a Salem hospital. She was a member of the Fort Lewis Baptist Church, member of the Fort Lewis Rescue Squad and a member of the Home Demonstration Club. Surviving are her husband, Horace K. Basham; son and daughter-in-law, H. Kenneth and Sharon Kay Basham; daughter, Betty Jane Craig; sister, Marguerite Leslie; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert M. Smith; also five grandsons, five great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, with the Rev. J. W. Hatton officiating. Interment will be in the Butts Cemetery, Roanoke County. Funeral arrangements are by John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home, Salem.
