KNUCKALLS, GARLAND E.Garland Eldridge "Sam" Knuckalls, 62, of 1110 W. Beverley Street, died Friday morning, January 17, 1992 at his residence. He was born on February 7, 1929, in Austinsville, a son of the late Richard E. and Lillian (Dunford) Knuckalls. Mr. Knuckalls was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of Teamsters Local No. 29 and a member of V.F.W. Post No. 2216. Before retirement, he was employed by the Con Agra Frozen Food Company of Crozet for thirty-one years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Laura (Harris) Knuckalls; a son, Richard E. Knuckalls, Staunton; two daughters, Mrs. Cynthia L. Toman, Gloucester, Ontario Canada; Sandra V. Knuckalls, Staunton; a brother, Phillip D. Knuckalls; two sisters, Betty K. Manual and Jo Ann K. Richmond, all of Wytheville; three grandchildren, Wesley Michael Toman and Susan Lynn Toman, both of Canada and Brittain Richard Knuckalls, Staunton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Milton. A service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday in Thornrose Cemetery by the Pastor David Gilbert, followed by burial rites given by the V.F.W. Post No. 2216. Active pallbearers will be Earl Harris, Jr., Daniel F. Harris, Frank W. Harris, Kenneth F. Conner, Michael E. Harris and Michael D. Stoher. Honorary pallbearers will be members of V.F.W. Post No. 2216, Edgar Michael, Jr., Dolly Jackson, Jr., Russell Mays, Floyd Jarvis and Kenneth Gibson. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the Henry Funeral Home and at other times at the residence. It is suggested that those desiring may make memorial donations to the Memorial Trust Fund of Staunton-Augusta County Rescue Squad, 1601 N. Coalter St., Staunton, Va. 24401
