CARROLL COUNTY BOARD ELECTS NEW CHAIRMAN

Emmett Jones, a newly elected member of the Carroll County Board of Supervisors, became its chairman this month.

Jones, a Republican, was elected 4-2 in a vote split on party lines. Democrat Avis Collier, the only supervisor re-elected Nov. 5, was the other nominee.

Billy Barker, another Republican, is the new vice chairman.
