3 FACE DRUG CHARGES AFTER COCAINE SEIZURE
Botetourt County deputies and state police seized about $15,000 worth of crack cocaine from a car they stopped Friday morning on Interstate 81 between Buchanan and Daleville.Botetourt Sheriff Reed Kelly said police also arrested three men who were traveling in the car from New York to Roanoke.
They are Jessie Lee Calloway, 26; Carl Anthony Lawrence, 24, and Michael Eugene Davis, 26. All three men are of Roanoke.
They were charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and were being held in lieu of $50,000 bond each at the Botetourt County Jail in Fincastle.
Kelly said the drug seizure and arrests followed several weeks of investigation by the Botetourt Sheriff's Department into a crack distribution ring between New York and Roanoke. He said deputies and state police stopped the car about 6:30 a.m. on I-81 southbound near a highway rest area.
