PIONEER MCPIZZA? NOT ROCKY MOUNT

REFERRING to your story about McPizza (page A-3, Jan. 11): The McDonald's in Abingdon has been serving pizza for almost a year (beginning in March 1991). Rocky Mount is not "the first in Virginia to offer the product to the public." Once again it appears Southwest Virginia has been left off your map. LINDA WHITE ABINGDON

Editor's note: Incorrect information in the story came from a McDonald's regional spokesman in Norfolk. At least three other McDonald's restaurants in Southwest Virginia serve pizza.
