YELLOW JACKETS DROP WASHINGTON AND LEE
Randolph-Macon's Jeff Taylor scored 23 points Saturday and the Yellow Jackets used a 19-1 run over nine minutes in the second half to beat Washington and Lee 79-46 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.The Yellow Jackets (6-7 overall, 2-4 ODAC) took a 13-10 lead with 12:15 remaining in the first half on a 3-pointer from Taylor and never trailed. Taylor was five of seven from 3-point range, including four in the first eight minutes.
Washington and Lee scored the first seven points of the second half to trail 39-30 and trailed 46-37 with just over 15 minutes to go. The Jackets' 19-1 run then put the game away.
Jason Grubb added 12 points and Troy Smith had 10 for the Yellow Jackets. Bryan Watkins had 11 points for the Generals (4-9, 1-6), who shot 37 percent from the field.
