OAKVALE DOWNS BLAND IN BOYS' BASKETBALL

Oakvale (W.Va.) jumped to a 16-4 lead and had no troubles in a 70-41 non-district boys' basketball victory over Bland on Saturday night.

Matthew Weatherly led four double-figure Oakvale scorers with 19 points. Dean Meadows added 16, Aaron Terry 13 and Brian Crowe 12.

Toby Dotson scored 10 for the Rockets (1-8). Oakvale improved to 3-5. -
