TRANSMITTER TROUBLES SHUT DOWN STATION
The Roanoke-Lynchburg television market's Fox Television Network station remained off the air Sunday, three days after transmitter problems made it unable to broadcast.WJPR/WVFT, which airs simultaneously on Channels 21 and 27, went off the air Thursday at midnight.
Station technicians Sunday night were working on its transmitter on Flat Top Mountain in Thaxton. A spokeswoman for the station could not predict when the station would resume its programs.
"The phones are ringing off the hook," said Tammy Vaughan, the station's traffic manager. "They've been working up there since it went off."
Despite the outage, Vaughan said, she has her work cut out for her.
"I get to reschedule all those commercials," she said. - Staff report
