FURRER'S PLAY DRAWS PRAISE
The weather was the real winner on Saturday as the AFC defeated the NFC 13-10 in the Senior Bowl. The only quarterback with a modicum of success was Will Furrer of Virginia Tech. He was 2-of-5, including a 36-yard touchdown pass to Tyrone Williams.
Williams, a receiver from the University of Western Ontario, was the first Canadian college football player invited to the game.
"This is a dream come true," Williams said. "He [Furrer] did a great job, and I'm glad he came to me."
AFC coach Art Shell of the Los Angeles Raiders said, "It was awfully hard to throw the ball. We had one shot at it and made it pay off." - Associated Press
