TICKETS GO ON SALE FOR `HENRY STREET!'
Tickets go on sale Monday for the March 21-22 revival of "Henry Street!" in Whitman Auditorium at Virginia Western Community College."Henry Street!" is a musical about the street that once was the heart of entertainment and social life for Roanoke's black residents. Now fallen into decay, the street is the target of a neighborhood revitalization effort.
"Henry Street!" was written by Audrey Whitlock and Greta Evans, with singer-pianist William Penn serving as musical director. It was first presented in 1986 and every performance, including the dress rehearsals, was sold out.
Tickets to the show are $10. They will be available at the community college's bookstore. It is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Fridays.
