LAWTON, HARRY N.Mr. Harry Noblin Lawton, 74, of 3303 Walnut Street, Hopewell, died Tuesday, January 21, 1992 in the John Randolph Nursing Home following a brief illness. He was born in Radford, son of the late Harry A. and Annie K. Lawton, had been a resident of Hopewell for the past three and one-half years, having moved here from Radford, and was a retired store clerk for Hercules, Inc. He attended the first Baptist Church of Hopewell and was active in the John Randolph Hospital Volunteer Program. He is survived by two sons, Donald R. Lawton, Sr., Hopewell; Harry A. Lawton, Kingsport, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Donald R. Lawton, Jr., Elizabeth Anne Lawton, Harry A. Lawton III, and Daniel Jeffrey Lawton. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Gould Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home by the Rev. Willie S. Cromer, Jr., pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment will be Friday in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
