NEW RIVER PEOPLE IN BUSINESS
LUCY DRAPER of Christiansburg has been named president of the New River Valley Association of Realtors. Draper is an associate broker with Owens & Co. Realtors in Christiansburg.Draper joined the association in 1977 and over the years has been chairman of several association committees. She was also president-elect in 1991 and served as treasurer for two years.
Draper received the 1990 Realtor of the Year Award for the New River Valley and the valley's Citizen Award in 1983.
She succeeds JOAN SKIPPER RICHARDSON, who served as president during 1991.
Elected to the New River Valley Association of Realtors Board of Directors are PRISCILLA LILLY, president elect; PAT CUPP, vice president; JEAN SIMMONS, treasurer; NANCY AGEE, secretary; and directors JO ALDERMAN, SOL AMES, JIMMY DEEMER, MARY MADIS, GEORGE POOLE and ERIN WIGGINTON.
Dr. HENRY A. GONZALES has been elected chief of the medical staff at Pulaski Community Hospital.
Gonzales has practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Pulaski County for almost four years. Prior to joining the hospital's medical staff, he was in private practice for seven years in Hobbs, N.M., where he also served as chief of obstetrics and gynecology at Lea Regional Hospital.
Gonzales completed his residency at the University of California at Fresno and received his medical degree from the university's Davis School of Medicine.
\ VICKIE WISDOM-JUSTICE was promoted as branch manager for Adia Personnel Services' Blacksburg office. She was previously an account manager with the firm, a nationwide operation providing temporary and permanent employment in the clerical, light industrial and technical fields.
\ S. KENDALL "KEN" ANDERSON, president of the Blacksburg-based Anderson & Associates engineering firm, has been named western regional vice president of the Virginia Employee Stock Ownership Plan Association.
\ PRISCILLA LILLY, an associate broker with Century 21 Bell Realty in Dublin, received the Graduate Realtor Institute designation by the Virginia Real Estate Education Foundation. The Bell Realty firm also named Lilly "Super Agent" in a contest held for the third quarter of 1991 for her all around performance. She had received the firm's Agent of the Year Award in 1990 and currently serves as president-elect of the New River Valley Association of Realtors.
\ JOSIE T. BISHOP, assistant manager of the Blacksburg branch of Omega World Travel, received the Employee of the Year Award for the second consecutive year at the company's annual awards dinner in Salem. She also received the company's Pacesetter award as top sales agent for 1991.
Dr. LINDA R. MARSHALL has joined the medical staff at Radford Community Hospital. She also joined the Radford practice of Drs. William Cook, Glenn Hall, Blair Spillman, Timothy Walker and Florence Mogen.
Marshall completed her residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh and at Wilmington Medical Center in Delaware. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has been board certified in pediatrics since 1981.
Special recognition was given to a large number of drivers and employees at the annual awards dinner of Clinton's Transfer and Storage Inc., the Blacksburg agency for North American Van Lines since 1959. Three drivers were recognized for outstanding quality performance and were awarded all expense paid trips for the driver and his spouse. They are: BILL GORDON, ROBERT BERRY and ROBERT BOYD. Gordon was also named this year's Super Van Operator of the Year by the American Movers Conference.
\ JEFF COHEN of Blacksburg, a salesman with Clinton's Transfer and Storage Inc., was awarded an all expense paid cruise for his sales efforts in the international division of northAmerican Van Lines.
\ JEAN L. ALLMAN, vice president of patient care services at Radford Community Hospital gained nominee status in the American College of Healthcare Executives. This is the first level of achievement in the college, which is an international professional society. Allman is president-elect of the Virginia Organization of Nurse Executives and serves on the legislative council for the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
\ GAIL C. HOOPER of Christiansburg completed the Professional Paralegal Program offered by the School of Paralegal Studies of Southern Career Institute in Boca Raton, Fla.
