TIMBERLAKE STIFLES NORTH CROSS GIRLS
Although poor shooting affected both teams, Timberlake Christian held North Cross to nine points in the second half and rolled to a 33-21 Blue Ridge Conference girls' basketball victory on Tuesday night.North Cross is 3-9 overall, 1-7 in the Blue Ridge.
Angie Coleman scored all of her 11 points in the second half to help Timberlake Christian (3-5, 2-4) seal its victory.
Monday's game
Roanoke Catholic 52, Holy Cross 28: In Lynchburg, the Celtics overcame a sluggish start to whip the Gaels in a Blue Ridge Conference scrap.
Shannon Simpson scored 18 points and Jackie Hinman added 16 for the Celtics (9-1, 6-1).
Emily de Guzman led Holy Cross with 12.
The Celtics led 22-18 at the half, but blew the game open in the third quarter by outscoring Holy Cross 18-4.
