MILLER, WILLIAM J.

William John Miller, age 84, died Wednesday in Roanoke. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hallie Merritt Guthrie Miller, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Womack, Durham, N.C.; two sons, the Rev. Joseph Henry Miller, Powells Point, N.C.; William J. Miller, Jr., Copper Hill; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Maplewood Cemetery, Durham, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oxford Orphanage, Oxford, N.C. 27565. The family will receive friends at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home, Durham, N.C., from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
