REAVES, PAUL M.Prof. Paul M. Reaves, father of Mrs. Earl R. (Mary Helen) Simpson Jr. and grandfather of Mrs. Robert C. (Karen S.) Warner of Lynchburg, passed away on January 21, 1992, in Blacksburg. Prof. Reaves is survived by his wife, Mary Morris Reaves; two additional granddaughters, Mrs. Glenn (Nancy S.) Hummerston of Landisville, Pa. and Mrs. Daryl (Kathy S.) Johnson of Lakeland, Fla.; one grandson, Gary Paul Simpson of Ashburn, Va.; and seven great-grandchildren, Paul Warner, Kristen, Kyle, and Cory Hummerston, and Wesley, Casey, and Perry Johnson; three sisters, Mrs. Herman Dame of Dawson Springs, Ky.; Mrs. Homer Sullivan of Maui, Hawaii and Mrs. Robert Ivens of Johnson City, Tenn.; one brother, Clarence W. Reaves of Gainesville, Fla. Prof. Reaves taught in the Dairy Science Dept. of Va. Tech for 40 years, and was active in and a director of dairy and agricultural feed organizations on state, regional, and national levels. Prof. Reaves received many honors culminating in 1989 when the Va. Tech Animal Science Building was named "Litton Reaves Hall" in honor of Reaves and his colleague, Prof. George Litton. He was an active member and deacon of Blacksburg Baptist Church, and a former president of Blacksburg Lions Club. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Blacksburg Baptist Church, after which the family will receive friends in the church parlor. The family will also receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the residence. Burial will be earlier in Westview Cemetery.
