WHEELER, ALFRED E. W.Alfred Edward Whitehead Wheeler, age 91 of the Patrick Henry Hotel died Wednesday, January 22, 1992, in a local hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on October 20, 1900, son of the late Frederic C. Wheeler and Agnes W. Wheeler Jackson. Mr. Wheeler was a retired life insurance agent from New York Life. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Surviving are cousins, Mrs. Elizabeth Temple Bassett of Roanoke; Judge Betsy Temple, Fresno, Calif.; Mrs. Ellen Temple Brown, Woodbury, Minnesota; and Mrs. Louise Temple Roediger, Danville, Va. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. John's Episcopal Church conducted by the Rev. James Drinard Smith. Interment to follow in Evergreen Burial Park. The family suggests memorials be made to your favorite charity. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
