TEXAS ATTORNEY GENERAL PROBING TELEVANGELIST

Texas Attorney General Dan Morales launched his investigation of television evangelist Robert Tilton on Wednesday by requesting extensive information about the finances and claims of Tilton's ministry.

Morales said in a letter to Tilton that his office has reason to believe Tilton's ministry "has engaged in trade practices and charitable solicitations which may violate provisions of state law, including the Texas Consumer Protection and Deceptive Trade Practices Act." - Fort Worth Star-Telegram
