KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS CONTEST WINNERS NAMED

Knights' tournament application deadline set

Jan. 31 is the deadline to submit applications for bids to the 23rd annual Knights of Columbus Basketball Tournament.

The single-elimination tournament, scheduled March 6-15, will include eight midget/pee wee-league teams (ages 9-11), 16 little-league teams (ages 11-13) and eight junior-league teams (ages 13-15). Announcement of teams offered and accepting bids will be made Feb. 4.

The Knights of Columbus Council 562 has announced winners of its recent free throw/foul shooting competition, who will advance to regional competition.

In boys' competition, winners were Alan Dalton, 10; Michael Yates, 11; Ronnie Kasey, 12; Brian Carson, 13; and Kintay Daniels, 14.

In girls' competition, winners were Joanna Colosimo, 10; Samantha Webb, 11; Rita Devlin, 12; and Katie Tricarico 13.
