STOP CONDEMNING FRED ROBINSON
I THINK it is time to stop condemning Fred Robinson, Roanoke city police officer, for not having his seat belt fastened. We do not know why this was. He was human like all of us, and we are not infallible. We will never know why or whether this would have prevented his death.I did not know this officer, but from all I hear about him, he was one of a kind. We should all be thankful for all the years of service he gave to the residents of the city.
I think it takes a special person to serve as a police officer, and we should all be thankful for each of them who are willing to sacrifice their lives each day they serve. EDNA S. SWARTZEL ROANOKE
