Doris Gearheart Chambers, 67, of Narrows, died Wednesday, January 22, 1992, in the Roanoke Memorial Rehabilitation Center in Roanoke, Va. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on May 30, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Noah D. and Mazie Keister Gearheart and was preceded in death by a brother, Robert K. Gearheart in 1985. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Narrows, a member of Lakeland Chapter #74 O.E.S. of Narrows, and a member of the V.F.W. Post #6000 Ladies Auxiliary in Narrows. She is survived by her husband, Paul E. Chambers, Narrows; two sons, Jerry W. Chambers, Fairfax, Va.; Clark K. Chambers, Lawrenceville, Ga.; three daughters, Cheryl D. Smith, Pearisburg, Va.; Melanie B. Lafon, Fayetteville, N.C.; Consabrina Chambers, Narrows; one brother, Noah D. Gearheart, Narrows; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Narrows, with Rev. Ralph Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home Friday by Lakeland Chapter #74 O.E.S. of Narrows, Va.
