CONCEALED-WEAPON CHARGE IN BLACKSBURG

Blacksburg police charged a 38-year-old man with carrying a concealed weapon Wednesday after police were called to Snuffy's, a bar at University Mall.

According to a police news release, Stanley Carl Rife of Triangle Avenue was arrested and charged after it was discovered that he was carrying a .25-caliber automatic handgun.

Police said they went to the bar at 3:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a male carrying a concealed weapon.

A Feb. 26 hearing has been scheduled in Blacksburg General District Court.
