MARTINSVILLE MAN CHARGED IN SLAYING

Police have issued a murder warrant against a Martinsville man in connection with a Dec. 27 shooting death.

Warren Jackson Jr., 22, of Middle Street, has been charged with murder in the killing of Antonio Dickerson, 21, of Paul Street, police Sgt. T.E. Ussery said.

Jackson had not been arrested by Thursday afternoon, Ussery said.

Dickerson was shot in his mother's house and died from at least four gunshot wounds in the upper part of his body, authorities have said.

Ussery said the slaying apparently stemmed from an argument and was not gang-related. - Staff report
