FERRUM PROGRAM TO FEATURE SOPRANO
Soprano Judith Cline will star in "Music in the Home of George Washington" Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Grossbeck Hall at Ferrum College.The free program features music and information from the Cline Mount Vernon collection of Eleanor Parke Custis, granddaughter ofGeorge Washington, with text by Judith S. Britt. She is author of "Nothing More Agreeable: Music in George Washington's Family."
Cline is a graduate of Drake University. She has a master's degree from the University of Southern California and a doctorate in vocal performance from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. Her operatic experience includes "The Magic Flute" and "Hansel and Gretel" in Los Angeles. She has done concert and oratorio performances in St. Louis, San Francisco and Seattle.
Cline will be accompanied on harpsichord by Lynn Gardner of Martinsville.
The program is a presentation of Ferrum College and the Piedmont Arts Association.
