PARTY ON VIRGINIA DARE OK'D
The Virginia Dare, which was docked earlier this week because of unpaid bills, got permission Friday to hold a private Super Bowl party Sunday on Smith Mountain Lake.A Franklin County judge ruled that the party could take place if the riverboat restaurant paid $757 in proceeds from the event to a creditor by Monday.
Circuit Judge B.A. Davis III said that Bluewater Cruise Co. would have to keep the Virginia Dare docked until it could work out a settlement with Poquoson Leasing Co.
Poquoson says that Bluewater Cruise owes $4,147 for five months rent on an onboard computerized beverage system and is seeking settlement of $27,127 for the equipment.
