BRIDGEWATER HOLDS OFF GENERALS

Jeff Berry scored 23 points and Todd Rush added 22 Friday night as Bridgewater beat Washington and Lee 78-71 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Bridgewater (14-2, 8-2 ODAC) had a 37-26 halftime lead, but Washington and Lee (5-10, 2-7) rallied in the second half, trimming the lead on the strength of its 3-point shooting.

The Generals hit 12 of 22, nearly 55 percent, from long range.

Bryan Watkins led Washington and Lee with 23 points and Bryan Brading added 12.

Dan Rush had 12 points and seven rebounds for Bridgewater. \
