`CELEBRITY CHEFS' WILL BE COOKING TO BENEFIT CHARITY

Seven teams of amateur "celebrity chefs" will participate in the March of Dimes' 10th annual Gourmet Gala on Feb. 1 at the Roanoke Airport Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom.

Preparing their favorite recipes will be: Mr. and Mrs. Marc Fink, representing Fink's Jewelers; Dr. and Mrs. K. Kellogg Hunt, Carilion Health Systems; Susan Byrne and Mary Marshall, Stedman House Inc.; Drs. Joseph and Linda Nelson, Lewis-Gale Clinic; Drs. David and Renita Randolph, Lewis-Gale Hospital; Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Simmons, Appalachian Power; and Mr. and Mrs. Garnett Smith, Advance Auto Parts.

Scheduled events include a tasting of the recipes at 6 p.m., dinner at 8 p.m. and an awards presentation/dance at 9 p.m.

Lorraine Bodger of Doubleday Publishers, Chef Albert Schnarwyler of The Homestead resort and Diana Sturgis of Food & Wine magazine will serve as judges.

Cooking stations will be designed by American Society of Interior Design student chapter members and constructed by Roanoke area high school vocational-technical students.
