TAKING FOR GRANTED THE PRIVILEGE TO VOTE
AS CAMPAIGNING begins, I trust all eligible voters will educate themselves on the issues and candidates. More importantly, I hope these same people will express their opinions at the polls on Election Day.I believe the privilege to vote has been taken for granted far too long. One only has to look at what percentage of eligible voters actually voted during the last couple major elections.
It is becoming all too easy to let someone else make the decisions that affect our lives daily. The logic seems to be that the people who bother to consider the issues will make the right selection. I for one want to exercise my power to vote and let our elected officials know how I feel. When I take the opportunity, I feel I have the right to gripe, complain or praise as I deem necessary.
