NAMES & CHANGES
Board returns to chamberCURTIS BEACH, executive vice president of Salem/Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce for 2 1/2 years, has resigned and WILLIAM BOARD, his predecessor, will serve as interim executive for the organization. A search committee is seeking asuccessor to Beach, according to Deanna Gordon, chamber president. Beach has left the office to take a sales position, representing a Wisconsin company. He will remain in Salem.
\ BANKING\ DOUGLAS CRUICKSHANKS JR. has been named a senior manager for NationsBank Virginia. He will be the commercial banking executive responsible for companies with revenues or sales up to $10 million. He was formerly with Sovran Bank in Roanoke.
One of the regional executive officers reporting to Cruickshanks will be DOUGLAS WATERS of Roanoke who will represent the mountain, Southside and Western regions of the state.
\ GOVERNMENT
\ CLAIRE A. COLLINS has been named county administrator of Bath County. She previously served as public affairs officer for Henrico County and assistant to the Henrico County Manager.
\ JOHN CORCORAN, RICHARD LLORET and RUTH E. PLAGENHOEF recently joined the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Virginia. Corcoran was formerly with the United States Marine Corps. Lloret was previously an associatewith Blank, Rome, Comisky and McCauley in Philadelphia. They will work in the civil area. Plagenhoef was most recently a trial attorney for the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice. She will conduct criminal investigations and prosecutions for the office.
In addition to the new staff, the office has announced several other staffing changes. MORGAN E. SCOTT has been named first assistant and chief of the criminal division.
\ THOMAS J. BONDURANT JR. will serve as the office's special prosecution attorney.
\ JOSEPH W. H. MOTT and DONALD R. WONTHIUS have been appointed attorneys for the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. Mott will be the lead task force attorney.
\ THOMAS L. ECKERT has been named the Financial Institution Reform and Recovery Enforcement Act attorney. He will be responsible for coordinating all financial institution fraud cases.
\ LAW
\ JAMES P. CARGILL has been named as associate with Glenn, Flippin, Feldmann & Darby in Roanoke. He was formerly a law clerk to the Honorable A. Christian Compton of the Virginia Supreme Court.
\ ORGANIZATIONS
\ VON W. MOODY III, vice president of commercial real estate administration at Dominion Bankshares Corp., has been elected regional vice chairman of the Appraisal Institute. He serves the region that includes Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and North Carolina. A member of the institute's national board of directors, he serves on two national committees.

\ RANDAL MIDKIFF has been named vice president of sales and marketing by Barrows Office Furniture of Roanoke. He will be responsible for coordinating and developing additional customer base in the Roanoke and Southwest Virginia markets. He has been in office furniture sales since 1981.
