OBIT PUCKETT, T.

PUCKETT, THOMAS W., SR.

Thomas William Puckett Sr., age 60, of Route 5, died Saturday, January 25, 1992, in Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Floyd County on March 21, 1931, a son of the late Matthew Luke Puckett and Callie Mae Sigmon Puckett. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph O. Puckett and a half brother, Lewis Puckett. He was an employee with the Virginia Department of Highways, a member of Otterville United Methodist Church, and the Lynchburg Elks Lodge No. 321. He is survived by his wife, Helen Wright Puckett; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy W. and Mary Puckett; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Lewis Wooldrige; two grandchildren, Jill Wooldrige and Kevin Wooldrige; two brothers, Shelton Puckett and Marvin Puckett; a sister, Dorothy M. Overstreet, all of Bedford; a half sister, Ollie Puckett, Vinton. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 27, 1992, at 2:00 p.m. at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Pat B. Tony and the Rev. Bobby Altice officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
