Captain Otis G. Pennington, U.S. Navy Ret., age 75, of Vinton died Sunday at his home. Mr. Pennington was a native of Princeton, W.Va. and retired from the U.S. Navy after 37 years of service. He served during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Jones Pennington; daughters and son-in-law, Ann and Gary Murray, Vinton; Katherine Pennington, Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Aaron Murray, Mackenzie Murray, Drew Murray, Jonathan Murray, Jonathan Frieden, Lynnette Frieden, Elizabeth Frieden; two sisters, Alberta Hazelwood, Princeton, W.Va.; Elwanda Burleson, Elizabethton, Tenn. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Vinton Baptist Church. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton, with Dr. William L. Ross officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
