EVANS, BESSIE L.

Mrs Bessie Logwood Evans, age 89, formerly of Huntington Blvd, N.W., died Sunday, January 26, 1992. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and was the widow of James H. (Jimmy) Evans. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dolores E. (Dody) and William J. Matze, Roanoke; one granddaughter, Debra M. Williams and husband, G. Gordon Williams III, Charlotte, N.C.; one grandson, William J. Matze II and wife, Denise L. Matze, Burlington, N.C.; one sister-in-law, Emma Logwood, Roanoke; three nieces, Sherri T. Aiken and Penny Clindon, both of Atlanta, Ga.; Muriel M. Powers, Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, with the Rev. Kelly Dampeer and Dr. Harry Y. Gamble, and Dr. Paul Matheny officiating. Burial will be in Fair View Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday.
