TECH'S HEBRON OK AFTER ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY
Virginia Tech's football staff hopes surgery has put an end to the sore ankle that bothered tailback Vaughn Hebron most of last season.Hebron underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle in Blacksburg on Thursday. Tech trainer Eddie Ferrell said Hebron is "doing fine."
Hebron, the team's leading rusher as a freshman and sophomore, was third last year behind Tony Kennedy and Phil Bryant. Hebron sprained the ankle in the team's fourth game against Oklahoma, missed the next game against West Virginia and struggled with the ankle since then.
