WYTHEVILLE'S 1ST HABITAT HOME IS DEDICATED
The first home completed in Wytheville by a Habitat for Humanity organization had its genesis two years ago with the New River Valley Habitat in Christiansburg."They are really the ones that started us on this road, through Frank Putney," said the Rev. Vaughn Earl Hartsell - co-chairman with Putney of the Wythe County Habitat - at the dedication of the new home Sunday.
Putney had worked with the New River Habitat on home-building projects as a volunteer and brought the idea of forming one in Wythe County to the county ministerial committee two years ago.
Fred Dodson is director of the New River Habitat.
