SCOTT COUNTY PROSECUTION BECOMES FAMILY MATTER

Defendants in Scott County may soon think they are seeing double when the prosecution presents its case.

Commonwealth's Attorney Terry Kilgore is being joined in his law practice by his twin brother, Jerry, who will be assistant commonwealth's attorney.

Jerry Kilgore stepped down last week as a government prosecutor with the U.S. attorney's office, a job he has held since late 1986. He said he wanted to widen his legal experience.

He also said he might offer himself as a Republican candidate against Rep. Rick Boucher, D-Abingdon, but wanted to see first if former Congressman William C. Wampler Sr. is interested in running. Meanwhile, he said, he will be assisting Wampler's son, state Sen. William C. Wampler Jr., R-Bristol, during the 1992 General Assembly.
