JUSTICES URGE BAN OF CAMERAS IN COURT

The Virginia Supreme Court has recommended banning cameras in trial courts, saying the public's right to free access to the courts is adequate without the use of such equipment.

"The public's right of free access to Virginia's courts is well served without electronic media, still photography or radio broadcasting of judicial proceedings," concluded the report, submitted by Chief Justice Harry Carrico.
