ROANOKE COUNTY SUPERVISORS
Beach music. Approved a "use not provided for" permit for another season of
beach music concerts at the Valleypointe business park off Peters Creek Road.
The concerts, which will benefit the Easter Seal Society of Virginia, will be
Thursday nights from May 7 through Sept. 3. Average attendance in the summer
of 1990, when the concerts began, was 1,300. That increased to 2,300 last
summer.\

Postage rate Approved a resolution asking Congress to roll back the first-
class postage rate for local governments to 25 cents. The county budgeted
nearly $136,000 for postage in the 1990-1991 fiscal year. Because of the
increase in the postage rate to 29 cents last February, though, the county's
actual cost was $145,000. In the current fiscal year, the county has budgeted
nearly $163,000 for postage.
