BRISTOL REQUESTS STATE AUDIT
City Council has voted to request a state audit of the Sheriff's Department to determine if any funds have been diverted.Council said it will pursue the recovery of such funds if necessary.
Council also voted Tuesday night to ask federal investigators to complete their investigation of the department. It is alleged that Sheriff Marshall Honaker, who committed suicide last week, diverted nearly $380,000 in city funds into a personal checking account.
