PLANNED PARENTHOOD GROUP OFFERS ABORTIONS
Citing the need for "continuity of care" for women in a crisis, Richmond's Planned Parenthood affiliate has voted to provide abortions during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy."We expect the decision to provide abortions will engender opposition, especially in the present political environment," said Grace S. Sparks, executive director of the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood.
"But Planned Parenthood's mission is to ensure that all women have access to the reproductive health care they need. When we refer them away for abortions, we lose the chance to help them when they need us most."
