REDDING, ROY W.

Rev. Roy Warren Redding, age 91, a resident of Rt. 6, died Tuesday. He had lived in Smyth County, Va. since 1927 and moved to the Abingdon area one year ago. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margie Barker Redding, Abingdon; one stepdaughter, Mrs. David (Donna) Denton, Bristol, Va.; two stepsons, Robert L. Matthews, Jr., Knoxville, Tenn.; Timothy B. Matthews, Abingdon; nine stepgrandchildren; one niece; six nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Chilhowie Baptist Church, Chilhowie, Va. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Chilhowie. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the family toward burial expenses. The family will receive friends at the Campbell Funeral Home in Abingdon from 7:00 to 9:00 Friday evening.
