Mrs. Carey Williamson Thomas, age 71, of Goodview died Thursday, January 30 at her daughter residence in Galveston, Texas following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death last January by her husband of 49 years, Lawrence Randall Thomas. She was a 1942 graduate of the University of Alabama and a loving mother and homemaker. She is survived by two daughters, Olivia Meyer and husband, Dr. Walter Meyer, Galveston, Texas; Dr. Annette Hastie and husband, Dr. Robin Hastie, Haddonfield, N.J.; son, Dr. Christopher Thomas and wife, Linda Alley, Galveston, Texas; grandchildren, Ellee and Randy Meyer; Rachel and Craig Thomas; Kevin and Sarah Mele, Goodview. A memorial service will be Sunday, February 2, 3:00 p.m. at thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church in Vinton. The family request memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society and Galveston Hospice Group or the church or charity of the donors choice. Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, Galveston, Texas.
