BUSES TO RUN FOR UVA-TECH

The City of Roanoke will operate free shuttle buses from the downtown parking garage at First and Church streets to the Roanoke Civic Center for Wednesday night's Virginia-Virginia Tech basketball game.

Buses will make round trips from the garage, in the 100 block of West Church Avenue, from 5:30-8 p.m. and again after the game.

Tip-off is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. unless the game is a sellout and moved to 7 p.m. for a Home Team Sports cable telecast.

About 7,000 tickets have been sold. The civic center seats 10,056. Tickets, priced at $15, remain on sale at the civic center box office and also at the Tech and UVa athletic ticket offices. - Staff report
